MetLife Stadium is a major sports stadium that is located in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Here you will find the directions to MetLife Stadium.

At just 8 miles from New York City, this stadium is home to two NFL franchises: the New York Jets and the New York Giants.

The stadium has been open since 2010 and it is the only stadium that is shared by two NFL clubs.

MetLife Stadium is easily accessible by car by taking Exit 16W from the New Jersey Turnpike and is also accessible from NJ Route 3 and NJ Route 120.

Getting to the MetLife Stadium is pretty simple since it is located right off the Turnpike.

Visitors from any part of NJ or even from New York will find it quite simple to get to the stadium, where they will find plenty of parking.

Directions from the East

Those coming from the eastern part of the state, like from Clifton, will find Route 3 to offer the fastest route to the stadium.

  1. People coming from Clifton will follow NJ 3 E to N Service Road in East Rutherford.
  2. They will then take the exit for NJ-120 N/E.
  3. Continue on North Service Road Drive to Rd D, where they will be directed to different parking locations around the stadium.

From the North

Travelers coming through northern areas of New Jersey like Hackensack will use:

  1. Railroad Ave, Paterson Plank Rd and NJ-17 S to Rd A Plaza/Berrys Creek Road.
  2. They will then follow Berry Creed Rd to Rd D.
  3. This is a fast and straightforward route that will deliver fans right to the stadium parking areas.

Parking Information for General Events

When visiting MetLife Stadium for general events, such as concerts and conventions, the parking lot will be open five hours before the start of any event.

It will close two hours following the end of that event.

Any ticket holders that arrive at MetLife prior to five hours before the scheduled event will not be allowed to enter the complex and may have to leave the area until the parking lot is open.

All toll plazas will be staffed starting five hours before any event until the end of that event.

Those that hold tickets to any general seating area will be directed to park near the closest point of entry.

Any and all vehicles that enter the lots at MetLife Stadium will be subject to search by the State Police. This could include a K9 unit. Ticket holders must agree to these search terms and if they refuse any search, they will be asked to leave the property and will not be allowed to park or enter the arena.

Parking Fees for Events Not NFL Related

At MetLife Stadium, there are no pre-paid parking permits offered for any non-NFL event. However, it may be possible to pre-pay paring fees if one purchase a VIP Package for a scheduled event.

Cars that are entering the lots will be charged $30 and any Bus or RV will be charged $120. These parking fees can change at any time and information will be posted at eh MetLife Stadium website or at the lots.

NFL Parking Information

On days that there are NFL games scheduled, all vehicles that are entering the Sports Complex will be required to have parking permits.

Parking permits will allow for one vehicle to have a single space with tailgate set-up. No adjacent parking spaces may be used for the set up of chairs, grills or tents.

For NY Giants games, guests can purchase pre-paid permits. The GA permit allows access to Blue Lots and the VIP permit will allow access into Red lots.

For NY Jets games, permits are used for parking in any Orange Lot. There are also Green and Yellow permits that can be purchased. Parking permits must be clearly displayed at all times.

Permits will only allow access to the complex parking lots and will not entitle any ticket holder to reserved parking or specific spaces.

Accessible Parking for Patrons with Disabilities

Those who are attending the Stadium for any non-NFL event will have to have a valid ADA plate or placard and accessible parking is offered in Lots E, F and G. There are also designated drop-off areas in Lot C for guests that have disabilities.

MetLife Stadium Tailgating Policies

Most people who are visiting MetLife Stadium to enjoy a Jets or Giants game will want to engage in tailgating before the big game.

This is permitted in all parking lots with the exception of the parking deck that is right next to the Arena.

Tailgating is limited to lined parking spaces and immediate areas in front of or behind each vehicle. Grills will be permitted for tailgating enjoyment, though open fires are not permitted on the grounds of the Stadium.

The tailgating rules are subject to change; please confirm them on the date of your attendance.

Shuttle Buses

Ticket holders who park in Lot P, the parking deck on the east side, and surface parking lots will be provided will shuttle buses to the stadium.

Any guests that drive to eth stadium and park in Lot P will get the shuttle in Lot G. Those that park in surface lots or in the parking deck will get the shuttle in Lot C, located near the Pedestrian Bridge.

Anyone who parks in the mentioned lots will also be able to walk to the stadium using the provided sidewalks and Pedestrian Bridge.

Uber Access

For those that chose not to drive to the stadium and deal with parking, Uber services are available.

There is a designated Uber Zone that is located in the E Parking Lot, outside of the Verizon Gate. When any patron requests an Uber ride, the pickup location will be in the Uber Zone.

As soon a ride is requested, patrons should head to this area and watch for their requested driver to arrive. The Uber Zone is available for non-NFL events as well as for Giants and Jets games that are scheduled.
