FanDuel Sportsbook NJ Promo Code 2024

FanDuel Sportsbook officially launched in the Garden State on September 6, 2018, bringing with it all the bells and whistles you could ask for. Competitive pricing? Check. Fluid and easy to understand interface? Check. Flexible cashier, bet variety, and mobile? Check, check, and more check. Of course, none of this really surprises, as FanDuel is now part of European sports betting juggernaut Flutter Entertainment (formerly Paddy Power Betfair), which completed an acquisition of the company in July 2018.

And if that weren’t enough, the FanDuel Sportsbook platform is powered by globally renowned sports betting provider IGT, which also supplies the tech for FanDuel’s retail book at the Meadowlands. This is a winning combination of brands and providers that shows in the final product. FanDuel’s platform clearly ranks among the industry’s best.

How it works

All you have to do to take advantage of this offer is register using our link, deposit at least $10 or more, and make a wager of $5 or more. After that, you will get $200 in bonus bets if your first bet wins.

Bonus bet credits can be used the same way players would use cash to wager on sports, other than the fact that the stake is never paid out, only the winnings. For example, if a player wagered $100 in bonus bets on one sports bet at +100 odds and it wins, they would receive a payout of $100 in cash. If the same bet was placed using real cash money, the player would get back their original $100 stake plus the $100 in winnings, totaling $200. When it comes to betting with bonus bets, players should only expect to get back the winnings. What a welcome bonus!

What’s to Like About the FanDuel Sportsbook

  • Stellar money lines – Moneyline players are well-advised to play on FanDuel, as the book offers pricing that’s not only better than every other NJ online sportsbook, but often a tick better than Vegas. Spread, run line, and over/under pricing also offer solid value.
  • Bet variety – For any given game, players can expect to find between 100-200 single bets, including obscurities like the last scoring play in the NFL, or a specific inning score for MLB. Add in dozens more game/player props, as well as a variety of futures, and punters will be hard pressed to find a wager that doesn’t suit their betting needs.
  • Interface – Clean, sleek, and most importantly, easy-to-use, the FanDuel Sportsbook interface is a dream come true for new bettors who might be intimidated by the complexity of sports betting. The quality of the interface translates well from PC to mobile.
  • Cashier – FanDuel might not offer the most deposit and withdrawal methods, but it’s certainly no slouch either, checking off critical payment processing vehicles like eChecks, PayPal, PayNearMe, and credit/debit cards.

FanDuel Sportsbook – Under the Hood

Clean, intuitive, no-frills: These are the descriptors that come to mind when assessing the FanDuel Sportsbook interface. Upon entering the site or mobile app, players will gain immediate access to popular, live, and odds-boosted top-line bets, divided neatly into three tabs. The games and lines are displayed in large, clear type, making them extremely easy to take in.

Those looking for more exotic bets only need to navigate to a game and select “More Wagers.” From there, the interface will change to display a listing of all the most popular bets. Don’t find something you like? Select another tab, or go to “More” and display “All” bets. Once you find the right wager, just click/tap on it, and the bet will automatically populate on the Bet Slip. Once on the slip, the options to use the wager as part of a parlay, teaser, or round robin will also appear.

In July 2021, FanDuel got a complete upgrade with a new look and a promise of a faster, more fluid experience. There are hopes that the update will correct any login issues that some users were experiencing and location issues after making deposits.

Slight layout differences aside, the mobile sports betting app functions essentially the same way as its desktop counterpart.

FanDuel Sportsbook is powered by IGT’s PlayShot sports betting platform, utilizing the latter’s built-in content management system, with PlayShot being integrated into GAN’s player account management system, for use by FanDuel. Bottom line: it works. There’s perhaps no better example of the impact this perfect marriage of solutions providers is having than FanDuel’s in-play betting, which is about as reactive as we’ve seen. Not only that, but live games harness a graphical interface that displays a crude simulation of the event in real-time. We just wish there were a bit more in-play betting variety.

Throughout our extensive testing, we did not experience any server crashes, and geolocation checks were near-instantaneous, resulting in a very fluid user experience. We were also pleased to see that in addition to providing a user-friendly interface, FanDuel also offers an easy-to-understand betting guide, perfect for new players.

There are also a variety of account management features, where players can view their betting history, display their tax forms, and access responsible gaming protocols. It’s all very intuitive, and even the furthest corners of the site are just a few clicks away.

FanDuel Sportsbook is available on desktop/laptop, and as a mobile sports betting app for both Android and iOS.

Cashiering at FanDuel Sportsbook NJ

FanDuel has many options to get funds instantly into and out of the site. Once seen as somewhat of a weakness, its cashier is now every bit up to industry standards. Live, in-person deposits are also available at the FanDuel Sportsbook at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford.

There are some restrictions with online deposit amounts, with no immediately apparent way to request a limit increase. If you’re a high roller, we’d recommend contacting customer support about this directly.

Deposit options

  • Credit/Debit Cards – Straightforward deposit option using your Visa or MasterCard.
  • FanDuel Prepaid Play+ Card – You can apply for a prepaid card on the FanDuel website. Once approved, you can instantly attach a Visa or MasterCard to fund the account. ACH transactions can be set up after the actual card is received in the mail, which takes about two weeks.
  • PayPal – Safely and securely fund your FanDuel account using the most popular eWallet in the world.
  • Online Bank Transfer – Using the Online Bill Pay feature with your bank you can send money instantly. If you don’t see your banking institution on the list, we recommend contacting your bank to see if this feature is available.
  • PayNearMe – Choose the amount you want to deposit and enter it in the “PayNearMe” tab on the deposit page and you will receive a barcode. Simply bring that barcode to be scanned at 7-11, CVS or Family Dollar. The cashier will ring you up, hand over your cash, and the funds will be available in 15 minutes. Daily and 30-day rolling limits apply.
  • In-Person – You can deposit funds in-person at the FanDuel Sportsbook at the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford.
  • Paper Check – Write a check, wait a bit, and boom, its in your account.
  • Wire Transfer – Typically for larger transactions, you can send a wire transfer direct from your bank account.

Withdrawal options

  • Online Bank Transfer- Access your bank account through FanDuel’s online banking service to make withdrawals using your checking account
  • Check – You can request a paper check to be sent to the address registered on your Betfair/FanDuel account. This option will take 5-7 days to be processed.
  • FanDuel Prepaid Card – Upon successfully making a deposit using the Prepaid card, any winnings can be sent back to the card. This can take 24-36 hours for the funds to appear, and can be withdrawn at any ATM or used as a credit card wherever Discover Card is accepted.
  • PayPal – Notably, only players that used PayPal to make their deposit can use PayPal to withdrawal their funds.
  • In-Person – You can also withdraw from your FanDuel Sportsbook account in-person at the Meadowlands Racetrack.

Betting Lines at FanDuel Sportsbook

FanDuel Sportsbook undoubtedly has the best pre-game money lines in the NJ online sports betting market. Others come reasonably close, but FanDuel always appears to go that extra mile, offering pricing that’s just a little better than the nearest competitor.

In-play money lines are something of a different story, where a couple of NJ operators do a tad better than FanDuel.

NFL spreads are on par with the rest of the industry, although it is worth noting that the site tends to offer slightly more favorable odds (15 cent spreads) on Giants and Jets games. We’re certain this has nothing to do with the fact that the Giants and Jets play at MetLife Stadium, which is located in the same Meadowlands campus as FanDuel’s physical NJ sportsbook (sarcasm).

Otherwise, FanDuel’s lines are something of a mixed bag. We’ve done some calculations and it looks like FanDuel offers solid pricing on futures, relative to the rest of the market, with commissions hovering in the 5-10% range. Props are hit-and-miss. Simple ones like first team to score offered solid pricing, while more exotic wagers like “Race to 10” can end up being outrageously bad odds in the -120/-125 vicinity. There’s value to be had, but players are going to have to seek it out.

Key Sports Markets

When it first launched, FanDuel offered a relatively unimpressive selection of betting markets when compared to other operators in the state. They’ve worked hard to remedy this, and now provide odds on a significantly wider range of sports. Prominent American sports have always been available:

  • American Football (NFL and College)
  • Baseball (MLB)
  • Basketball (NBA, WNBA and College)
  • Boxing
  • Golf
  • Hockey (NHL)
  • MMA
  • Soccer
  • Tennis

But some of the more recent, niche additions have helped take the selection to new heights:

  • Cricket
  • Rugby
  • Table Tennis
  • NASCAR
  • Darts
  • Cycling
  • Olympics

Game Selection at FanDuel Sportsbook

While FanDuel doesn’t cover every sport, its huge selection of betting offerings more than makes up for it. Online sportsbooks have the freedom to get creative in ways a retail sportsbook could never dream of. FanDuel took this idea and ran with it.

In terms of pre-game wagering, FanDuel Sportsbook is without question the best in the industry. The breadth of available bets is astounding, with upwards of 100-200 bets featured for most pro league games, and dozens for tennis, golf, college football, and soccer.

Common pre-game betting formats include, money lines, totals, futures (game/player), props (game/player/season), parlays, teasers, and round robins. As a taste, players can bet on anything from who will have the most rushing or receiving yards in the current NFL season, to whether the total score for an MLB game will be odd or even after three innings, to who will win the Central Division for NHL. If you can think up a bet, then there’s a good chance that it is already offered by FanDuel.

In-play/Live Betting

No modern NJ online sportsbook is complete without in-play wagering, where you can place bets on a game that’s already in progress. Ideally, odds for in-play wagering are updated in semi-real time.

From a technical standpoint, FanDuel does a terrific job updating scores and lines swiftly, making it easy for action hungry bettors to get their live wagers in. However, as mentioned, FanDuel’s in-play lines aren’t nearly as good as its pre-game lines, but that’s pretty much par for the industry.

In terms of in-play bet variety, FanDuel does well here too, offering players nearly as many options for live games as it does for games that have yet to begin. Does FanDuel offer the most in-play variety of any NJ online sportsbook operator? No, not quite, but players won’t be left wanting.

Cash Out

Risk-averse bettors will love this one. As part of its in-play offering, FanDuel Sportsbook grants players the option to get out of Dodge so to speak, via the Cash Out feature. Regardless of whether your active bet is working out for you or not, if the wager is Cash Out eligible you can close it out during the contest and receive a payout in accordance with current in-play odds. Bettors may even be eligible to cash out a portion of their bet, retaining some, but not all, risk.

Do note that Cash Out is not available for all betting markets.

FanDuel Sportsbook promos

FanDuel Sportsbook wasted no time in rolling out interesting, lucrative promotions. The lineup updates frequently – we recommend checking the designated ‘Promotions’ tab regularly. Here’s a look at the general types of offers that you can find:

  • Bonus bets – Place a wager, win an extra wager of a specific monetary amount or percentage of the initial bet.
  • Deposit bonuses – One of the most common sports betting promos in NJ, deposit bonuses, reward players with a percentage match on their deposit, capped at a certain amount.
  • Insurance – This promotional type offers players cash back on bets where their team is winning at a certain point in the contest, but goes on to lose.
  • Parlay Insurance – This is a relatively new promotion available at many sportsbooks, including FanDuel. If you bet a multi-game parlay (4 or more legs) and win all of the legs but one, you get a refund on your ticket, usually up to $25.
  • Profit boosts – Tokens that gift players a “boost” to their profits on winning wagers.
  • Tied-in promos with Casino: We have seen FanDuel starting to promote their new FanDuel Casino with bet on sports and get casino site credit promotions.

We’ve also seen some creative one-off promos on FanDuel, like the NFL focused Pats Protection promo, where players that place a future on anyone but the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl will be entitled to a $50 refund credit if the Pats take home the Vince Lombardi trophy.

Loyalty Program

FanDuel boasts an impressive, tiered loyalty program for its Daily Fantasy Sports players, but unfortunately there is still no such option for the sportsbook. In the months after launch it was assumed that a FanDuel sports betting rewards program was in the works and would be along soon. The more time that passes without one, though, the less likely that seems. We will be sure to update accordingly if and when a rewards program hits the New Jersey market, but for now, it’s all quiet on the loyalty front.

Support

When you find yourself looking for specific answers, FanDuel has you covered with three support options that all are available 24/7.

Live chat allows you to talk to a real support agent via an instant message window on the website. Response times started slow but have continued to improve over time. Email responses are also very prompt.

If you want to talk to a real person, you can also call 877-689-0662. All three options are dedicated to sportsbook only, so FanDuel DFS concerns will be addressed by a separate support team. If you are more of a “do it yourself” kind of person, the site provides a comprehensive FAQ section that should address any questions or concerns that you may have.

More About FanDuel

FanDuel was founded in 2009 after receiving $1.2 million in funding from Pentech Ventures and Scottish Enterprises. It launched its first FanDuel Fantasy Football Championship in 2010.  In 2013, as daily fantasy sports were exploding in popularity, Comcast provided $11 million in funding followed by $70 million in funding in 2014.  In 2015, FanDuel was in a full out race to the top against rival DraftKings and secured $275 million in funding, leading to the company being valued at over a billion dollars.

FanDuel made good use of the new funding by acquiring three new companies in 2015. First was the app developer Kotikan to create FanDuels mobile app, followed by sports analytics company numberFire to help provide more robust data to FanDuels customers. AlphaDraft was the third acquisition in only a matter of months which brought FanDuel into the eSports world.

In November 2016, FanDuel and DraftKings announced their plans to merge and combine their over 5 million customers. The FTC saw this as a big no-no, and stated that the merger would create a monopoly with the two companies controlling 90% of the DFS market. The union was quickly canceled and both companies moved on independently.

FanDuel has had no shortage of legal issues since there were technically no laws on the books for DFS. They were forced to pay $1.3 million to settle with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office over allegations of unfair and deceptive practices.

FanDuel was acquired by PaddyPower Betfair, a British Bookmaker, in the spring of 2018, just nine days after the United States Supreme Court announced that the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 was unconstitutional, effectively opening the floodgates to legalized sports betting nationwide. In July 2018, the FanDuel Sportsbook officially opened at Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey and announced its intention to bring sports betting online before the beginning of the 2018 NFL season. It achieved this goal by launching just days before the NFL’s opening weekend on September 6, 2018.[letsrev
