Stadiums to see sports betting options

There was a time when the National Football League (NFL) was vehemently anti-betting. But now, that stance is slowly fading away. The Sports Betting Committee of NFL had authorized football players and teams to get into individual sponsorships with licensed sports betting operators in the United States. Also, this is possible without any charges!

In September 2019, the NFL made DraftKings as its Daily Fantasy Sports Partner, although the company was gaining popularity as a renowned sportsbook operator. The league even signed Tabcorp of Australia as its first official wagering partner, presumably due to the absence of domestic attention that such a major deal would elicit.

The NFL has also planned to permit sports betting operations to take place in NFL stadiums in the country’s states where legalized wagering is allowed. Sports betting windows continued to be off-limits, however, betting lounges of the stadium that promoted options for mobile wagering will help materialize that.

The league is excited about how the realm of sports betting is growing, and they are now making tremendous efforts in this space. But, while stadiums with sports betting lounges can push their availability, there will be no signage allowed in the stadiums’ lower bowls. Eligible teams of the NFL can choose a sportsbook sponsor and get signage displayed in the stadium. Also, signs will bear the term “sponsor.”

What benefits are expected?

There are quite a few benefits of associating with a sports betting giant, besides the extra revenues. But, the most significant benefits lie in enabling NFL fans to become NFL bettors successfully and safely.

The American Gaming Association (AGA) estimates the football league could make more than $2.3 billion yearly by 2020. Not to forget, the revenue gain will arise from the increase in fan engagement made possible by legalized sports betting operations. The AGA also found that the percentage of betting wagering on NFL games would increase from 19 percent to 31 percent.

The first priority of NFL team owners is not to squeeze out every last dollar from team ownership. But, they are pretty much together in wanting the best for the league, the teams, and also for the innumerable fans.

Here are a few benefits that are expected:

  • Increased fan engagement
  • Greater TV viewing numbers
  • Avenues to ensure the integrity of the game and the provision of protection for the players
  • The opportunity to transition sports bettors from an illegal, unsafe online betting ecosystem to a legalized and controlled one.

The official casino partner of the NFL is Caesars Entertainment, and its official daily fantasy sports partner is DraftKings. However, NFL teams are free to enter into team-specific local casino deals of their choice. As the legalization of sports betting expands in the country, the NFL is authorizing more team sportsbook sponsorships because over half of the teams will have legalization in their states.

In Atlantic City, many land-based casinos have been setting up sports betting lounges in their premises, because if people are opting to wager on their mobile phones, the casinos would like them to do on the property.
